The sweet beginnings of a passion
My love for baking cookies started when I was very young. My mom always baked cookies for my friends when they came over. It made the house smell inviting and comfortable for everyone. My mom loved sharing her heart in the kitchen, and that feeling of warmth and welcome has stayed with me, inspiring every cookie I bake today.
My cookie-making philosophy
Making people happy through my cookies has always been the mainstay of starting Cookies By Jemmie. I've always baked cookies for family and friends as an adult, and it was just a matter of time that I started to sell my cookies. It allowed me to reach more people and spread those smiles even further. Each cookie is crafted with care, aiming to bring joy and sweetness to your day.
Beyond the oven: teaching and making connections
Before I started Cookies By Jemmie, I was an elementary special education teacher, then a preschool teacher. Teaching has been my passion since I was a child. It was a natural progression to teach cookie decorating classes when I left the classroom to bake full time. My cookie classes marry my two greatest passions – teaching and baking – creating a fun and engaging experience for everyone.
